1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms. If you use the service for a group or household, you represent that you are authorized to do so. Provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
2. What the service does
Camp Van Cliff helps private groups coordinate camping trips, including invitations, RSVP, tasks, meals, groceries, shared-expense records, campground guides, crew map pins, a private group feed, and an AI-assisted planning tool.
3. Invitations and group visibility
Invitations may provide access to private group information. Do not share an invitation outside its intended audience. Planners may manage membership, roles, attendance, and shared trip records. Members of the same trip may see information you submit according to their role and the service's permission rules.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Camp Van Cliff a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, display, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and support the service.
You may not submit content that:
- Is unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexually exploitative, defamatory, deceptive, or invasive of privacy.
- Infringes intellectual-property or other rights.
- Contains malware or attempts unauthorized access.
- Shares another person's sensitive information without permission.
We may remove content or restrict access when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect members, or comply with law.
5. Shared expenses
Expense tools are informal records for a private group. Camp Van Cliff is not a bank, payment processor, money transmitter, accountant, or collection service. The service does not settle balances or verify that an expense is accurate. Group members are responsible for confirming and resolving amounts.
6. CliffAI
CliffAI may summarize authorized trip information, answer planning questions, and prepare actions for review. AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. Verify important information with an authoritative source. Supported consequential actions require confirmation, but you remain responsible for reviewing the details.
7. Third-party services and links
The service may link to campgrounds, directions, PicSpot, Apple, Google, and other services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their availability, content, privacy, security, or terms. Your use of them is governed by their agreements.
8. Cliff+ and purchases
The current release may show a Cliff+ concept or demo entitlement but does not create a subscription unless an Apple App Store or Google Play transaction sheet clearly appears. If paid plans are later enabled, the store will display price, billing period, renewal terms, and controls. Deleting a Camp Van Cliff account may not cancel a store subscription.
9. Sponsor placements
The free experience may include clearly labeled contextual sponsor placements. We do not use Campfire posts, expense details, precise live location, or cross-app tracking to select them.
10. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Access another person's account or data without authority.
- Scrape, probe, reverse engineer, or interfere with the service except where law expressly allows it.
- Create accounts, send spam, or overload the service by automation.
- Bypass permissions, confirmations, moderation, rate limits, or safety controls.
- Use the service to coordinate illegal activity.
- Misrepresent a demo proposal as an authoritative booking or payment.
11. Service changes and availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service. Camping environments can have limited connectivity; we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Keep independent copies of information needed for travel or safety.
12. Termination and deletion
You may stop using the service and request deletion at campvancliff.app/account-deletion. We may suspend or terminate access for material violations, security risks, or legal requirements. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
13. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Camp Van Cliff disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. Nothing excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Camp Van Cliff and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities arising from the service. Jurisdictions that do not allow a particular limitation receive the protection their law requires.
15. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Camp Van Cliff harmless from claims arising from your content, unlawful misuse, violation of these Terms, or violation of another person's rights.
16. Applicable law
These Terms are governed by applicable law without limiting mandatory consumer rights available where you live.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, revise the date above, and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
